Kia ora Kiana,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pepeha. My son, Aronui, is half-Maori and half-Canadian and his Maori family is from Ngaruwahia. His nana (and much of his family) is buried on Taupiri, his awa is the Waikato and his iwi is Tainui. It's really cool to read that you two are connected through your ancestry. It is a small world, isn't it?
I hope that you and your family are having a really nice holiday together. Aronui and I had our Christmas Day a little bit early. We celebrated on the 23rd so that he could have a second Christmas with his dad's family today. Lucky guy - he gets to have two Christmases!
Speaking of Christmas, I better head away and put the ham in the oven for our dinner tonight. I'll look forward to checking your blog again soon to see if you've had time to post another activity. Hopefully you will!
Miri Kirihimete,
Rachel :)
