Quick Sand Science/Oobleck

Today We worked with Whaea Becks and we made Quicksand. It was really sticky at first, then it went all gooey when we added the water with Colouring. But then it started to come out fun. Here's my groups google drawing.

William Pike

Last week Te Ngahere were learning about William Pike. We watched a half an hour long webinar about all of his adventures around the world. When the video finished all the things we learnt about William Pike, we did a google drawing about.

Project Island Song

For the past few weeks, half of Te Ngahere went to Project Island Song. When we came back we started a google slide presentation about what we learnt and saw. It was really fun learning about lots of new things and doing lots of actives.

Informational Report

In the past few weeks Te Ngahere has been writing a country report about our chosen country. Our WALT is write an information report. Also every time we went to a workshop we had to add another WALT to our writing.

Walt: write an informational report, Complex sentence, Topic sentence, Common Nouns, Pronouns and Proper nouns in our writing.

France

Have you ever been on a trip to France before?  Did you know that in France you can marry a dead person?  Also if you want to find more things about France keep reading, I’m going to be telling you about the Language, Sports and Population.

Language,

The  French language is the 10th most spoken language in the world. It is an official language in 32 countries and did you know that 6 to 11 million people in America speak it? This country just can’t get any better!!!  

Population,

There are alot of peoplein Francee and it has been like that for many years.In 2010 the population in France was 62,961, 136. In 2015 the population was 64,395,345. In 2016 the population was 64,668,129 and did you know that in 2017 the population is 64, 938, 716? Now that is just amazing.

Sports,

Did you know that the three most popular sports in France are cycling, football and Tennis? Let’s talk about Cycling. Cycling is one of the most popular sports in France. It is a hobby to many people in there! France holds the annual Cycling race which takes place each July and lasts for three weeks.  Many people attend this race. It is a popular race that has been alive since 1996.

Common Nouns and Proper Nouns

In writing we have been learning about how to use common nouns and proper nouns. All of us had to make a google drawing and we had to put person, place and thing on it.

Te Reo maori

In the past few weeks, Te Ngahere has been making a google slide for a Te Reo maori quiz. We were learning to ask and answer questions about classroom items. Our walt was to ask and answer questions in Te Reo Maori about items around the classroom.

Reading Goals!

Last week in Te Ngahere, we made a google drawing with our reading goals on it. We selected our goals by using our progression sheet. Our Walt was identify our next reading goals.
